Tumbling Waste into Compost

This year we’ve been enjoying our backyard and getting more and more into gardening. We’ve also been making changes in our home to become more eco friendly. At home composting just seemed like the next logical step to take. Not only does it provide healthy, nutrient rich and balanced compost for the garden, but it is also good for the environment. Although you might think that plant matter and food waste would decompose in the landfill, it is not properly aerated to decompose scraps properly. Instead they generate Methane, which can hold 25 times more heat than carbon dioxide!

Our Lovely Copper Kitchen Sink from Sinkology

When we first moved into our house one of the things I noticed right away was the black kitchen counters and black kitchen sink. They were fairly new and in great condition so everything was fine except for the color. Fast forward 4 years and scrolling through Instagram I found Sinkology. Sinkology produces products that…

Introducing Our Wood Pellet Rec Tec Grills

PinkBlush Clothing Review

These past couple of years I haven’t invested in many new clothes at all. Being pregnant the twice kind of puts a damper on the whole shopping experience. It’s difficult enough finding flattering maternity wear, but also just as difficult to find comfortable postpartum wear that doesn’t involve sweat pants. Like many other expectant mothers I’ve talked to, I was hesitant to spend money on maternity wear that I knew I would only wear for a few months of my life.

Tofu Tomato Poke with Mori-Nu Silken Tofu

With summer in full swing, our garden is thriving with heirloom tomatoes. I’m constantly thinking of new dishes to utilize them and showcase their beautiful colors and flavors. When Mori-Nu Silken Tofu approached us to create a recipe for them I was so excited and had the perfect dish in mind. I’ve always enjoyed tofu dishes and love how versatile and easy tofu is to work with. It’s wonderful raw or cooked and is perfect for hot or cold weather recipes.

Sometimes we pack dinner leftovers for lunch the next day, or we do meal preps, or we pack some fresh fruits and veggies we get at the Farmer’s Market. We’ve found one of the best way to keep our food fresh and appetizing is with PackIt’s freezable bags and customizable bento containers. Below are some of the products we’ve sampled.

Celebrate the Holidays with Clover Sonoma

Cheers to the holidays! Eggnog is a classic holiday party treat and this year Clover Sonoma has made it even better with their new Organic Maple Bourbon Eggnog. This festive drink combines their traditional creamy eggnog with the sweetness of maple and a dash of bourbon flavor (the product itself is non-alcoholic). Clover’s Organic Maple Bourbon Eggnog is based on a founder’s recipe that uses special holiday spices and clean ingredients that contain no carrageenan, cornstarch or corn syrup. Make it an extra festive adult treat by adding in some of your own Bourbon! Make sure to pick up some Organic Maple Bourbon Eggnog to make this Christmas extra merry. You’ll be able to find it at fine retailers like Save Mart, Lucky, Nugget, OIiver’s Markets, Mollie Stone’s, Lunardis, Draegers and New Leaf.

Bucher Wines for the Holidays

With Thanksgiving nearing and Christmas just around the corner, we’re getting in the holiday spirit. This time of year is all about sharing great meals with friends and family. We all have plenty of holiday parties to attend, and you never want to show up empty handed. When things get busy it’s always great to have a few great bottles of wine on hand to bring them along with you to your next gathering. If you are hosting, set a pretty table and let the wines work their magic! An amazing Pinot always excites!

Raised Real: Organic Baby Meals Review

After months of only milk, solid foods are definitely a game changer. One more thing for busy moms and dads to worry about! Per our pediatrician’s recommendation, we slowly introduced baby Nora to a new food every couple of days to make sure she had no allergic reaction. We started with sweet potatoes, avocado, broccoli and then introduced fruits, dairy and nuts. I would go to the store, buy the organic fruits and veggies, chop them, steam them, and then puree. Although it is exciting to introduce your baby to new foods, it is a lot more work than just nursing or bottle feeding.
