Sunny Days in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is known as the “American Riviera” with its beaches, shopping, and leisure lifestyle. Not only does it have gorgeous Spanish Colonial architecture, there is much to do to keep you busy or relaxed for a nice getaway. Stay We stayed at Ramada By Wyndham Santa Barbara during our visit. We loved their beautiful…

Morgan Winery: Organic & Sustainable Wines

A glass of Morgan Winery wine never disappoints. Morgan Winery is located in Carmel’s Santa Lucia Highlands and focuses on organic and sustainable farming while at the same time staying innovative in the wine making process. We love their pinots, they are extremely well balanced and are superb to open right away or save for a special occasion. Their bottles are perfect for enjoying with a summer meal, al fresco!

Relaxing in Paradise: Oahu, Hawaii

When you’re looking for a warm, relaxing getaway from the Bay Area, Hawaii should be your top choice! If you’re on the lookout, prices can be as low as $350 round trip for direct flights from any of the Bay Area airports (San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose). We took advantage of one of these…

A Glimpse of Taipei, Taiwan

We decided to make a week long visit to Taipei, Taiwan as our big trip of the year. We’ve heard great things about it’s food, culture, people, and weather this time of the year. Below is a brief guide of some of our experiences there. After spending a week there, we want to go back…

A Visit Back in Time: Virginia City

If you’ve ever wanted to make a visit into the past to see what it was like in America in the 1800s, Virginia City, NV is the perfect place. Located just 30 mins drive from Reno-Tahoe Airport, as you drive around the last bend you suddenly feel like you’ve traveled back in time with the…

Family Ski Trip to Banff and Lake Louise

We visited Banff National Park in Canada a couple of summers ago and fell in love with the nature and landscape. Being avid skiers, we knew we had to make a trip back to experience their amazing ski terrain and to see the park in the wintertime.

A Holiday Stay in Temecula

For the Holidays, we wanted to do a small getaway with family somewhere not too far and not too crowded. Since we have family in the South, we decided Temecula would be the perfect place for a visit.

Temecula is known as the Wine Country of Southern California located an hour Southeast of LA and an hour Northeast of San Diego. Wineries fill the hillsides and a lot of history can be found in Old Town Temecula with buildings dating from the 1800s.

A Coastal Getaway to Mendocino

Mendocino is a beautiful seaside town brimming with character and a culture all its own. A weekend away will slow down your busy life for a bit and allow you to enjoy the simple and finer things in life. It’s close enough to the Bay Area that you can do a quick road trip, but it’s far enough away to feel like you are far from city life. The temperatures are cool and foggy year round, but on lucky days you can catch some sun rays.

Tahoe North Summer Family Adventure

North Tahoe is perfect for a summer family vacation and gives you the chance to experience the mountains throughout the region. The crowds are far less than during the winter and it’s great to get up high in the mountains when it’s warm out and the sun is shining. We’ve visited Tahoe plenty of times before, but this was our first vacation with the little ones in tow, so it was a special and new experience. We’ve outlined our itinerary, which was a little slower paced to accommodate nap time and feedings, but also offered just the right amount of fresh air and picturesque views that we crave.

Baby Nora’s First Trip to Maui

After a few months postpartum, I was starting to get antsy to travel again. With no upcoming tips planned (a rarity for me), an amazing airline deal to Maui appeared! On a whim my mom and I booked my baby’s first airline trip! Even more amazing, babies under two fly free (on your lap) on all airlines. I knew traveling with a baby would be a big adjustment and challenging, but it was certainly worth it. She loved seeing new sights and swimming for the first time. New experiences for the baby and a travel adventure for me!

Visiting the Mountains of Colorado

Colorado is a skip and a hop (over Nevada and Utah) from the Bay Area where you enter the world of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We had a free weekend in October and had always heard great things about the area and wanted to make a trip to experience it for ourselves. There was way…

Babymoon to Scottsdale, Sedona and Page Arizona

Sedona has been on my list of places to go for some time. So when planning our last trip before the baby comes (a.k.a. babymoon) we decided to go for it. Most people plan babymoons in relaxing, tropical locations. I, on the other hand, can never sit still for too long. Spending all day on the beach didn’t sound adventurous enough for me. Even though we weren’t able to do the more challenging hikes, Sedona and Page offer shorter excursions with beautiful views.
