Togo’s was a name that I grew up with. It was a logo that I recognized while driving around town which stood for big and fresh sandwiches that can satisfy any sandwich cravings. Togo’s has around 200 locations all across the US West Coast and this year marks their 50th Anniversary! The first location was founded in 1971 near San Jose State University right here in the Bay Area.
Togo’s has always taken pride in their high quality ingredients from their bread, to their hand sliced meats and fresh avocado. As part of the celebrations they are introducing their new Cheese Steak Melt that will be available for a limited time only through the end of September.
This sandwich is Togo’s special take on the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich that is made with 1/4 pound of warm, tender steak, chipotle mayo with sauteed mushrooms, roasted red peppers, and sliced onions covered with melted American cheese. The meat can also be substituted with chicken if that’s your protein of choice!
If you haven’t noticed, many Togo’s locations have undergone a brand new remodeled look in the past few years. They wanted to keep everything looking modern and inviting. The location we visited was very clean and we love how all the menu items were easy to see and choose from. There was also a lot of seating available throughout the store for individual eating or a place to sit with your friends and family.
Togo’s has a lot of other exciting things happening such as their expansion into Nevada with a couple of locations opening in the Las Vegas area. These out of (the state) California locations will be joining the list of stores in Washington, Arizona, and Oregon. Their sandwiches is a great choice for a fast and easy lunch, a bi get together with their catering option, or something to grab to eat on the road.
