Have you ever bought a house that needs renovation? We recently bought a house that had not been upgraded in years. It was fun (but also a lot of work!) to choose our own designs and preferences throughout the house. We put together a couple of our favorite items and components of the reno so that if you if you ever decide to do one, you’ll have a place to start!
Kraus- Kitchen and Bathroom Sinks and Faucets
For all our faucet and sink needs in both the kitchen and bathrooms, we used Kraus. The have been making affordable kitchen and bath design since 2007 with their products found in majority of home goods and home improvement stores. We loved their wide selection of modern sinks and faucets and also liked how their styles were all up to trend. For our kitchen we chose the Turino Farmhouse Apron Front with the Bolden Touchless Commercial Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet. For the Master bath we chose Arlo Faucets and Esta Faucets for the Kids bath. We got Natura Undermount Sinks for both bathrooms. We went with a matte finish for all items since we wanted a more natural and neutral look and feel. Installation was easy and we are in love with how everything looks!
Mockett- Kitchen Cabinet Pulls, Bathroom Vanity Pulls, etc.
Mockett sells a variety of innovative furniture components and architectural hardware. We were looking for kitchen and bathroom cabinet pulls and loved the simple but beautiful look of their Slender Bar Drawer Pull in Satin Brass. For our bathroom pulls we wanted something sturdy and elegant and really liked their Cambridge Cast Iron Drawer Pull. Even though the pulls seem like such a small part of each space, they really made a large impact on how the overall look came together. All of their products are inspected down to the chemical level to show that no hazardous elements have been found in the making of each part. They construct all their items using renewable energy with great quality and craftsmanship in all their products. We also got some Double Button Coat Hooks, Arch Shelf Brackets, and Surface Mount Power Grommet.
Realcraft- Barn Door
I have always wanted a beautiful barn door in my house. Love the look and the smooth glide instead of a push or pull of a regular door. This gorgeous knotty pine barn door is from Realcraft. They are an American company based in Washington and specializes in building solid wood Barn Doors, Carriage Doors, and Butcher Block Countertops. All of their doors and countertops are build by hand from start to finish and they also carry an exclusive line of Sliding Hardware that gives the finishing touch to your barn door.
Gaia Flooring- Flooring
We wanted SPC (solid polymer core composite) flooring for all our main shared living areas. This type of flooring is known to be 100% waterproof and resistant to scratches and stains. We wanted our flooring to have the herringbone design and found just what we were looking for with the Gaia Red Series: Bella Sala Herringbone. Their flooring is made with new technology valinge drop click system and is eco friendly (no use of wood). We love how it turned out and can’t stop staring at it!
Glass Warehouse- Shower Door
We decided to do a walk in shower for our master bath and wanted a one piece fixed glass panel. We decided on this Glass Warehouse French Monture Noir Frameless Shower Door. It has a satin finish silk screen print which is baked into the glass so it will never peel or corrode. All Glass Warehouse shower doors are coated with Enduroshield which is an invisible treatment that repels water, soap scum, and grime which helps to reduce cleaning time by up to 90%.
Pacific Home Decor- Shower Systems
We were looking for a Shower System that had both a shower head and a hand held option. We saw these beautiful PULSE ShowerSpas Kauai III systems at Pacific Home Decor and loved them so much we got them for all of our bathrooms. Pacific Home Decor is a one stop shop for all things home improvement. They sell everything from kitchen, bath, cabinet, countertop, flooring, and tiles. They have two locations in Hayward and San Jose with huge showrooms. Their customer service is amazing in helping you find exactly what you are looking for.
Pacific Home Decor- Cabinets
We wanted to put some new cabinets in our laundry room since the old ones didn’t look too great and there wasn’t enough storage. We used Pacific Home Decor Snow White Shaker for some wall and counter cabinets for a simple and elegant look. Cabinets are one of their specialities and they were very professional in answering all my questions and helping to figure out the best cabinet combination for my space and needs. They have a quick turn around for all their Signature series cabinets which is perfect if you are short on time.

Bullnose Tile- Kitchen and Bathroom Tiles
There are so many options for tiles that it can be a bit overwhelming. Thank goodness for the amazing service at Bullnose Tile that made this process so much easier and enjoyable! They carry a wide variety of tiles and was so helpful in helping us come up with ideas that help us make our dream bathrooms and kitchen.
Coastal Lighting- Bedroom Lights
We decided to have flush mount light fixtures in all our bedrooms since we only had 8 ft ceilings. We chose something different for each of our bedrooms from Coast Lighting which has one of the biggest lighting showrooms in the Bay Area. They have over 50 years of experience, and is a premiere one-stop lighting store for both home owners and trade professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area. They were super helpful in helping us choose the perfect light for our needs and design.
Proline Range Hood
At our previous house we did not have a vent in our kitchen and sometimes it got pretty smokey cooking things on high heat or with a lot of grease. So this time around we made sure to get a top of the line range hood that could keep up with our cooking! We decided on a Proline 129E.36 Wall Range Hood. We love the clean stainless steel material that is easy to clean and maintain. It has a LCD glass touch panel and has four speeds to choose from. We’ve used it a couple times already and it is has greatly improved our cooking experience!
Chairish- Home Furnishing
Getting ready for a relaxing evening in and taking a look back at what this room looked like before. We added this beautiful coffee table we found on Chairish. They have an amazing selection of home furnishings that ranges from the one of a kind vintage pieces to the most contemporary sought after designs. It is a great site for both buyers and sellers of unique and boutique items that is hard to find anywhere else. You could spend hours looking at all the unique items on their website.
Touchstone Home Products/ Electric Fireplace
One of the “must haves” when remodeling our home was a fireplace. We decided on an electric fireplace since it was the easiest to install since all you need is an electric outlet! We love our Touchstone Sideline Elite fireplace for its sleek look. It was very easy to install and everything from the brightness, flame height, heat strength, and color can all be adjusted with the accompanying remote control. We also got an Encase Fireplace Shelf Mantel to complete our look!
