Creative Ideas for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Why not plan a special day or activity to celebrate with the woman who raised you? We’ve come up with some different ideas for all types of mothers: crafty moms, foodie moms, and even adventure moms! While Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 14th this year, these activities could be enjoyed year round. Better get to planning…

Visit a Garden

Instead of giving her Mother’s Day flowers, take her to see one of the gorgeous Bay Area gardens that are currently in bloom. Some of our favorites are Filoli, San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, Conservatory of Flowers, and the San Francisco Botanical Garden.San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers

Brunch is the perfect for a lazy morning and some good food. Try Southern Kitchen for some delicious hearty food like shrimp and grits, Causwells for a beautiful and delicious American brunch, Okane for one of the only Japanese breakfast style meals served in the Bay Area, or Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay to treat your mom to one of the most luxurious brunches of her life!DSC06579.JPG

Enjoy an Omakase Style Meal

Omakase is a Japanese style meal consisting of dishes selected by the chef. It’s a fun way to try plenty of new dishes. You can even request to sit at the Chef’s counter to see all of the cooking action. A couple of our favorite San Francisco Omakase style restaurants are Kinjo, Omakase.Omakase San Francisco

Have Dinner Out

A night out with your mother is a great way to spend some quality time over some quality food. Some of our favorite spots with great ambiance are Sabio on Main for their delicious Chef’s Tasting Menu with wine pairing, Reve Bistro for an adorable French setting with authentic French dishes to go along with it, or Straw for something different with a fun twist!Reve Bistro Lafayette Mother's Day

If you have a creative and hands-on mom, consider spending a day together learning something new. Workshop SF has tons of classes ranging from pickling and printmaking to terrariums and woodworking. If she likes getting adventurous in the kitchen try a Bold Food Class. If fitness is more her style, try a Barre class at Flex Fusion Studio.DSC08546_sm.JPG
