If you grew up in California you probably know what, “Eureka” means. The term is used as an exclamation of “triumph at a discovery”.  We were lucky enough to discover the restaurant, Eureka! as they have been expanding to new locations throughout the Bay Area. We found unique drinks, delicious eats, and great vibes!

Our favorite thing about Eureka! is the fact that always have something exciting going on every day of the week. All Eureka!s have similar events but each location has unique connections with the community in which they are located. For example, each location carries local brews and showcases local bands.

Another thing we loved about Eureka! is the atmosphere–laid back, relaxing, and fun. It’s the perfect place to get together with friends, sip on a couple of drinks and enjoy your company. The restaurant design uses reclaimed wood and great natural light for a warm and bright feel.

Below is a little overview of what Eureka! has to offer.

Drinks
Eureka! offers half priced wine on Tuesdays, $5 Mimosas and Bloody Marys for weekend brunch, and their daily “hoppy hour” pretty much covers everything you’d want to drink.  All Eureka!s have a big beautiful bar top to grab a quick drink and chat with a friend. We tried a couple of their cocktails, but our favorite would have to be the Holy Smokes!  It’s a whiskey cocktail served in a jar containing Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Maple Syrup, Cherry Liqueur, and Chocolate bitters. Smoke is then added in and the jar closed for 10 seconds to infuse the smokey flavor into the drink.  Be patient, then open the lid to enjoy this fun and delicious cocktail!

Eureka! also holds, “Steal the Glass” every Wednesday evening. Each week they partner with a different brewery to bring you this event.  After you order a beer from the featured brewery, you get to keep the glass!  We think this is a super fun way to support local businesses and a great way to start an epic beer glass collection.

Food

What’s a good drink without awesome food?  Eureka! offers all American comfort food with special twists.  They have a great burger menu with selections like Bone Marrow Burger, Jalapeno Burger, and a popular favorite, the Fig Burger. If you aren’t in the mood for a burger, they also have delicious sandwiches like the Fried Chicken Sliders that we loved. Don’t forget to order a side of their big, crispy onion rings as well! They are some of the best we’ve ever had.

Eureka! starters could be a meal in itself. With Chili Wings, Crispy Glazed Brussels Sprouts, and Lollipop Corn Dogs, you really can’t go wrong. We splurged when we visitied and got an order of each (piggies I know!). It was way too much food, but oh so good. Our favorite starter was the Lollipop Corn Dogs. Not too bready and the perfect bite size.

Don’t forget about brunch! Eureka! serves bunch every Saturday & Sunday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Start things off right with $5 Bloody Mary(with a slice of bacon!) or Mimosa. We tried everything on the menu, family style and were super stuffed.  Our favorite brunch item was the breakfast burrito topped with an over easy egg. So good!
