SVEN Ceramics is a little company of two, handcrafting fine pottery and art in San Francisco. Sven started doing ceramics when he was a kid, continuing on to study it in college at San Francisco State University. Partnering with Mallie—who brought photography, media, and marketing to the business—they formed SVEN Ceramics in the spring of 2015. All their ceramics are thrown by hand on the wheel, and are then twice fired. The last fire is a high fire in their newly acquired gas kiln, Yuro, named from the Petaluma man they bought it from last fall. They make all their glazes from scratch in their studio. The two are currently partnering with Four Barrel to make ceramics for the well-known SF café, and with the popular Mission district restaurant Flour + Water to craft plates and bowls.

Firm believers that the aesthetic is both in the function and the visuals, the pottery of the two behind SVEN Ceramics is beautiful, durable, and comfortable. Which, as we know, are all things a mother can really appreciate! From mugs to big beautiful salad bowls, plates, and fermentation crocks, this small company has all the unique and handcrafted pottery a loved one could wish for.18544d_fa8dc4b85c034bb9aec1757ca4b91dc2.jpg
