We’ve always wanted to try out the RV life since it seemed so fun and different. We had the opportunity to try an RV rental from Roadsurfer for a few days and it was life changing! It was the perfect balance between adventure and comfort. We loved that we had everything we needed always with us wherever we went. When others had to leave early to find lunch, we just hopped in the RV and made our lunch so we could stay and enjoy a place longer.

We decided to head into the Eastern Sierras since it is beautiful this time of year and the weather was absolutely perfect. We spent most of our nights at Silver Lake Resort and just relaxed by the lake and explored the surrounding area during our visit.

This was our first time with a rental from Roadsurfer and it really couldn’t have been any easier or smoother! We got a Family Freedom RV and it was the perfect size for our family of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids). They have everything streamlined on their website and in your account with video and written explanations of how to use every aspect of your RV before your visit, another refresher during pickup, and a full manual and FAQs available during your trip.

They also have many add ons that you can include to make your trip even more luxurious like their kitchen box and bed sheets, pillows, and covers as well as the option for additional camping chairs and folding tables. It was also very cool that they had a bookcase full of supplies that previous renters left so you can help yourself to whatever you need.

The RV itself was surprisingly easy to drive! No special license is required and insurance is included in your rental. It drives smoothly and even driving it through the mountains wasn’t bad. The interior was very clean when we picked it up and the layout of everything made it seem very roomy and there was seriously more storage that we needed even though we brought along everything we could think of possibly needing. The beds were comfortable and everything was very intuitive to use. The first time dumping out the waste and turning on and off the gas was a bit intimidating but once you did it, the system made sense and we felt like pros by the end of the trip. Did we mention they also have a heater so we were cozy all night long!

The biggest thing that stood out to us about having a RV is that we had EVERYTHING we needed wherever we went. Extra change of clothes, food, books, a place to nap, a place to change, a place to play games. It was defiantly a game changer! For example when we were at a hot springs, noon came around and everyone else had to drive at least half an hour to find food while we just walked back to the parking lot and cooked us up a meal and then had the hot springs all to ourselves afterwards!
If you’ve never done a RV trip we highly suggest it. If you’re looking for an amazing place to rent our RV- try Roadsurfer! They also have other rental options available!
