The Bay Area is home to many wonderful small and large businesses. With so many great products made right here, why not shop local this holiday season? We’ve found some amazing local brands and wanted to share with you some of our favorite gift ideas for this coming season. There is certainly something for everyone on your list!

For the Adventurer

These blankets are soooo comfy and are just what you want to snuggle up with on a cold winter’s day! Perfect for the outdoorsy type that also values creature comforts, look no further than Rumpl. Camelbak are the experts in hydration bottles and have wonderful gifts for anyone who drinks water…which is everyone! Their Stainless Vacuum Sealed Insulated Bottle is the water bottle you never knew you needed until you have it. After hours on the trail, or in a warm car, you’ll still have cold water! The bite valve is also so much easier to drink from while on the move. We also love their Chute Stainless Vacuum Insulated 20 oz. and 40 oz. bottles, which keep things hot AND cold, just what you need in the wintertime. A warm bottle of cocoa after a day of skiing? Yes please!

American Giant

When it comes to casual comfort, American Giant takes the cake. Their famous Classic Full Zip for men and women is known for being the best hoodie ever made. It has a classic silhouette built with durable heavyweight fleece and designed for a modern, tailored fit. It’s definitely warm enough to live in all winter. We also love their sweat pants and joggers, they are certainly the most comfy pair of pants we own.

Nothing is more thoughtful than a personalized gift. We absolutely love Timbuk2‘s custom weekender duffel bags. For locally made quality leather bags, Town Collective should be your go to. Each bag is handmade one at a time with minimally processed fine leather that is meant to age beautifully over time. We also adore their simplistic Avery Briefcase with enough space for your papers, laptop, keys and chump change. For a great gift for any guy, we recommend the Slackies. They look just like work appropriate khakis, but are so soft you’ll feel like you are wearing PJ’s. The Academic Hoodie is also fantastic. We like to think of it as a grown up hoodie with it’s wool tweed fabric. For the lady with a travel bug, the women’s Red-Eye Wrap is another one of our favorites for it’s clever design. It’s wonderful for traveling as it has a built in eye mask and special hidden pockets for stowing your passport and valuables. You can’t go wrong with any of their coat designs, the All-Day Coat and Morning Mess Jacket are quickly turning in to our winter wardrobe staples.

Blu Kicks

If you are looking for a gift that is stylish, yet comfortable check out the local SF shoe brand, Blu Kicks.  They have the staple pair of kicks that are wearable everyday. They are super cushy for city walking versus other streetwear brand shoes that we have tried. Our favorites were the Women’s Arctic Wool and the Navy Charlie. They also make a bevy of Men’s shoe options as well!

For the Creative

Kristina Micotti Pins

There are so many creative artists in the Bay Area. Kristina is a local San Jose artisan that creates colorful illustrations that are translated to cute pins. Her pins make a great small gift for those who like adding a splash of color to their wardrobe. Her Golden Gate Bridge, California poppy and California pins are great for showing some local and state pride! She also sells some other items on her shop page and does customized pieces, so be sure to take a look!
