For the Holidays, we wanted to do a small getaway with family somewhere not too far and not too crowded. Since we have family in the South, we decided Temecula would be the perfect place for a visit.
Temecula is known as the Wine Country of Southern California located an hour Southeast of LA and an hour Northeast of San Diego. Wineries fill the hillsides and a lot of history can be found in Old Town Temecula with buildings dating from the 1800s.
Whenever we travel, dog friendly hotels and places are always a priority. Our fur babies are a part of the family and we always want to bring them along with us! Wine Road Northern Sonoma County has a variety of lodging, wineries, and restaurants that will make your doggies feel right at home.
South Lake Tahoe in the fall is gorgeous. The weather is perfect and it is somewhat of an off-season with fewer people. When you typically think of South Lake, you probably think of the casinos and ski resorts. Those are great activities, but since we visited in the early fall, we wanted to get outdoors to enjoy mother nature.
Mendocino is a beautiful seaside town brimming with character and a culture all its own. A weekend away will slow down your busy life for a bit and allow you to enjoy the simple and finer things in life. It’s close enough to the Bay Area that you can do a quick road trip, but it’s far enough away to feel like you are far from city life. The temperatures are cool and foggy year round, but on lucky days you can catch some sun rays.
North Tahoe is perfect for a summer family vacation and gives you the chance to experience the mountains throughout the region. The crowds are far less than during the winter and it’s great to get up high in the mountains when it’s warm out and the sun is shining. We’ve visited Tahoe plenty of times before, but this was our first vacation with the little ones in tow, so it was a special and new experience. We’ve outlined our itinerary, which was a little slower paced to accommodate nap time and feedings, but also offered just the right amount of fresh air and picturesque views that we crave.
After a few months postpartum, I was starting to get antsy to travel again. With no upcoming tips planned (a rarity for me), an amazing airline deal to Maui appeared! On a whim my mom and I booked my baby’s first airline trip! Even more amazing, babies under two fly free (on your lap) on all airlines. I knew traveling with a baby would be a big adjustment and challenging, but it was certainly worth it. She loved seeing new sights and swimming for the first time. New experiences for the baby and a travel adventure for me!

South Africa is a hop and a skip away from the Bay Area and a great place to explore a whole different world. We divided our trip into two main parts: Johannesburg area for safaris in the North, and Cape Town for some coastal vibes and a visit to their wine country. We had the chance to spend a few days Palm Springs and got the opportunity to really explore and discover this vibrant and unique city. Located in the middle of a dessert valley area, the temperatures can soar to the 90s and 100s during the day(higher in the summer) and cool down for a chilly night once the sun sets. Palm Springs is popular for their unique architecture and vibes that can’t be found anywhere else.
